In June, 2007, the Head of School received a letter from The school gives a number of awards during its annual school activities for
  1. Arts and Science Projects
  2. Games and Sports
  3. Co-curricular Activities
  4. Rank Holder Prizes
  5. Honours Award
  6. School Topper Award of Board Exams
  7. Shield or cash prize for work experience and other such group activities.
In addition, a ‘Best House Trophy’ on the basis of overall highest aggregate of points for the year generates high level of competition in all spheres.

Simon Kachari Award
The Fg. Officer SIMON KACHARI MEMORIAL TRUST gives an award every year to the ALL ROUND BEST STUDENT of FHSS to commemorate the memory of the late Simon Kachari, an Ex-Facultian who gave his life in call of duty flying a MIG-29. The winner is selected through a comprehensive laid-down procedure for selection.

K.P. Borooah Memorial Award
Late Krishna Prasad Borooah, a distinguished citizen and social worker of his time was a Trustee of the school till his death in 1992. In order to commemorate his services to the school as a Trustee of the Osom Educational Trust, the Trust has started an award to be known as the K.P. Borooah Memorial Award. Under this, the student securing the highest aggregate amongst all the 3 streams – Arts, Commerce and Science in Class XII CBSE Board Examination of the school will be paid a cash award of Rs. 10,000/- and a citation each year.

Simanta Choudhury Memorial Award
The Simanta Choudhury Memorial Awards in memory of Simanta Choudhury an ex Facultian is given to the topper of the Class X CBSE Board Examination of the school. The award constitutes a citation and a cash award of RS. 5000/-
