Primary Section of F.H.S.S. bustled with activities on 23rd of April as the students, teachers and staff celebrated Rongali Bihu amidst fun and frolic. Director ma’am Loya Sinha, Management Trustee Bhuyan Sir, Principal ma’am Dr. Sushma Jha and other special guests graced the occasion. The environment was turned to a rural backdrop where the first day of Rongali bihu i.e. Goru bihu was depicted in a symbolic way. An elderly couple was presented a Bihuwan as a mark of respect and they showered their blessing on them on this auspicious day. They were also offered ‘Jalpan’ (doi, chira, laru, pitha) followed by the Hussari Group singing the bihu hussari. Little girls and boys decked in their fineries danced gracefully to the tunes of dhol, pepa, gagana. A spirit of festivity engulfed the audience. Principal ma’am too put her best foot forward and tried a few steps with the group. Thus the celebration came to an end with our guests being served traditional Assamese delicacies ladu pitha.
