‘Nyepi', this was what our school team of twenty students was named at the Odyssey, an annually held interschool cultural fest in Sanskriti- the Gurukul. Our school team comprising of ten boys and equal number of girls entered the Sanskriti premises on the 4 th of November.' The day was devoid of any competition but was a fun-filled evening because of the lively opening ceremony where every school had to present any item. The star attraction of the evening was Rockvale Academy which lived up to its name and rocked the evening with their electrifying performance. Even our school band, ‘Jukebox' performed and rocked everyone present.
6 th Nov, had all cultural and sports events. All the participants had a hectic day and were seen running from one event to another because many events were held simultaneously. To relieve us of our weariness, we were taken across the moonlit Brahmaputra for a river cruise. Later that night, the rounds for Master and Miss Odyssey were held. It lasted till 3 in the morning and in the end, Kaushik was declared as ‘Master Odyssey'.
The last day of Odyssey 2007, 7 th Nov, basketball was the only event that took place. At last the prize distribution ceremony commenced. With much anticipation, we waited for our prizes which were received amidst the largest of cheer. We were probably the happiest of the lot because we swept away the maximum number of prizes. With croaky voices, and aching bodies, we departed from Sanskriti to our school winning the prize for the ‘best performing team' for the fest.
